The center is a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive testing and experimental center. It conducts the operation and management of Sports Training Monitoring Laboratory and Sports Psychology Laboratory, and it has labs in the disciplines of sports training, biomechanics, physiology, biochemistry, endocrinology, pathology, molecular biology, sports psychology and etc. The center also builds the barrier-level animal laboratory and low-oxygen, high-temperature and high-humidity environment laboratory. The center runs the laboratories in a “open and shared use” way. It possesses a large number of advanced equipment from home and abroad, and can provide researchers with rigorous, thoughtful and careful science and technology services.

The main tasks of the center are to support researchers to conduct experimental tests in scientific research and service for national teams and for the mass as well, and provide a high-level testing and experiment platform for basic and applied researches on sports, and for talents cultivations.

The center won the third prize of “2004 Athens Olympic Games Scientific Research Breakthroughs and Science and Technology Services” of General Administration of Sport of China, “2008 Beijing Olympic Games Outstanding Contribution Collective” and other honorary titles.
